What is MoCCA?
We lovingly refer to it as “MoCCA” – the full name is Movimiento Cultural Canyengue Argentino. It is the not-for-profit cultural movement of Argentine canyengue, born in 2002 in Buenos Aires.
MoCCA also operates internationally as a dance school, to reach all those interested in experiencing the canyengue style of Argentine tango.
Who is Roxina?
Roxina from Buenos Aires, lives and works in Brussels.
In that city she runs a tango school dedicated to the Tango in Canyengue style.
Together with Marta Anton, Manolo “El Gallego”, Adrian Griffero, and Laura Collavini she founded the MOCCA Movement with the aim of spreading Tango in Canyengue style well beyond the borders of Argentina. As other tango styles, Canyengue also undergoes changes through new interpretations of ancient and traditional elements of style. Tango Canyengue is characterized by its unique “abrazo”, an embrace that is like blending coffee and milk, red and yellow, like gently sinking into warm sand on a spring day. Discovering this embrace opens new possibilities for you and your dance.
Roxina will share with you the art of the Canyengue flow, the smooth movements and the warm embrace. It will give you the pleasure of being able to dance the Canyengue tango all over the world.
